Global Finance Panel: Exotic or Essential? Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Alternative Assets in a Global Economy

This panel, which will take place at the Westin Palace at 3:15pm, will be hosted by Dean George Daly of Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business.

The McDonough School educates in the traditional disciplines of accounting, finance, marketing, management, operations and information management, all supported by strategy. Additionally, the McDonough School further rounds out the educational experience with a minor concentration in one of nearly 50 liberal arts disciplines. Students may take advantage of The McDonough School’s location in the nation’s capital to pursue varied internships in private industry, government, or non-profit organizations.

Joining Dean Daly (Dean, McDonough School of Business) will be senior business leaders including, Martin Halusa (CEO of Apax Partners Worldwide), Cathy Kinney (President and co-chief operating officer of the NYSE Group), Ernest-Antoine Seilliere (Chief of Supervisory Board of Wendel Investments -2nd biggest publicly listed private equity firm in Europe-) and Richard Frank (Darby’s Chief Executive Officer) , who will debate and discuss how the growth of Alternative Assets, Private Equity and Hedge Funds is impacting the financial strategies of corporations and the competitiveness of international capital markets.

The professional experience of each of the participants will deepen our collective understanding of these critical financial issues.
