John C. Kornblum

John C. KornblumJohn C. Kornblum is an international business advisor. Based in Berlin, he serves as Senior Counsel to the German law firm Nörr Stiefenhofer Lutz and is senior advisor to Accenture and Lazard GmbH.

He is also member of the international Advisory Board of Russell Reynolds Associates, Advisory Board of Motorola GmbH and the advisory council of Consultum GmbH in Berlin. Ambassador Kornblum is a member of numerous non-profit boards and committees including the American Academy in Berlin, the Deutsche Opera in Berlin and the American Counsel on Germany.

John Kornblum entered the private sector in January 2001 after having served in the American Foreign Service for more than 30 years.

As a specialist for Europe, he was posted in Germany, Austria, Belgium and Finland in addition to his posts in the State Department in Washington. Among his important assignments were as Minister and Deputy Commandant in Berlin, Deputy US Permanent Representative to NATO, US Ambassador to the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe, Assistant Secretary for European and Canadian Affairs, Special Envoy to the Balkans and US Ambassador to Germany.

Kornblum’s awards include the Knights Cross with Star of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Service Cross with Star and Banner of the Republic of Austria, honorary Citizenship of Sarajevo, the Silver Medal of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany and the Orden Wider den Tierischen Ernst of the Aachener Karnivalsverein in Germany.
