Summary - Keynote by Anthony Lake

At the time of the lunch, Anthony Lake, U.S. National Security Advisor from 1993 to 1997 and Georgetown’s Distinguished Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy, gave his speech on International Security, Risks and Opportunities.

Lake assessed global competitiveness and its impact on how the world responds to major challenges. Mr. Lake commented on how there are bigger challenges and the role of globalization is not yet so clear. He remarked the relevance that governments act together, and considered that we have to make enough progress on three issues: global warming, terrorism and poverty.
